This is the second version I have bought plus my husband bought one from another brand which looked identical and a fourth which was definitely different. When we first used it it worked great. My dogs barked immediately. It had the small side effect of being triggered by loud and rattling muscle cars or passing motorcycles. It got to the point that when the dog heard anyone approaching, she ran inside, fearing the ultrasound box would work. Unfortunately it wasn't very rainproof and I couldn't put it everywhere in my garden. saved it from the rain. In the end it stopped working because rain got into the device. However, this version lasted longer than any other we tried. So fast forward a few years and we've moved and need help barking. My husband bought another one and it didn't seem to do anything. So I checked my old order history to make sure I can order this one as it worked so well initially. Unfortunately it doesn't bother my dog anymore. This may be due to age - she is an agile 12 year old female. But I suspect their ability to hear that higher-pitched sound has diminished — much like the sound of a mosquito, which young people can hear but people over 40 cannot, because our hearing deteriorates at levels before we even have a general one notice hearing loss. . So in conclusion, yes it worked fine initially, but I wish they would make them more weather/water resistant. And it may not work with an older dog who is easily deaf.
