If you're looking at this, you have a large RV or boat. I've been an RVer for almost a decade. I consider it a must. This solves a big problem and a price driver problem. First problem, the factory 50 amp cord is plugged in straight and completely twisted. Due to the presence of copper and insulation, the weight of this device and the cord hanging from the RV puts a heavy load on the outlet. In particular, it starts to separate after a few years (3 years in my case). This device dangles at a right 45 degree angle and allows you to use a much cheaper 50 amp power strip to power your RV/boat. Look for a 50A power cord ($300+) and a 50A power cord ($100 or less). If your current power cord is unplugged and you want to replace it. I recommend using this adapter and a 50 amp extension cord.
