My teenage granddaughter thinks it's "a bit dated Nan, but thanks." Kids don't carry a set of CDs to the beach or into the car. So I upgraded my phone for them and use it because I have a lot of discs. The sound is certainly acceptable, and at less than 3 pounds it's light. We also had good radio reception. Seems well done. I had no problems or complaints which is why I am rating it 4 stars. However, I would advise you to buy one for yourself or to replace one that has gone bad.
