The best mount for 2 devices

I was looking for a good strong remote control mount. I have 2 bikes with the same stem except one has 4mm mounting bolts and the other has 5mm bolts. None of the front mounts I've looked at use 5mm, not even the one on Revain which specifically says it's for 5mm, it's set at 4mm so I returned it. Then I found this unit. It's well-made from CNC-machined aluminum rather than the "plastic metal" that some are made of. The blister pack includes a spare mounting screw (in case you drop one and it rolls so far under the workbench that you can't reach it), a second Wahoo-style tool mount, and 2 different-sized Allen keys. As you can see in the photo I mount my phone on top and I bought an accessory to mount my CygoLite headlight. I bought a Garmin phone mount that uses a very sticky mounting adhesive. I use a second Garmin custom mount that is inverted to hold my Garmin over the stem. This setup works well for me as I use RwGPS on my phone for verbal directions and Garmin for details on the data and map screens when I need it. Plastic inserts for attaching the device to an 80 ft pole have a plastic insert to prevent slipping. This could be my stem, but on both inserts the mounting bolts were too short to engage the threads so I removed the lower one and replaced it with a thin strip of rubber to secure the mount. I love this facility!

Pros
  • Quality mounting
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
