I'm giving this review because of a really terrible customer service experience. My router has been working for about a week, no problems with the router itself. I bought this to have a more reliable router than the previous Netgear router I had and it's been working fine so far. My problem was the setup. I'm usually tech savvy and can get to the bottom of the software to control different devices and make them work the way I want them to. First I set up the AC 1750 and it worked fine. For some reason it stopped connecting to wireless devices I had at home. I could only use the router with Ethernet cables. I tried changing various settings but I couldn't get it to work. Since the device was new and had a 90 day support guarantee, I called Netgear - a serious mistake. Apparently the main purpose of their tech support is to sell paid support contracts. The technician asked if he could take control of my computer and I agreed. It then configured the same router settings I had previously tried. Then he tried to update the driver for my wireless adapter. It was relevant. Then he told me (after fumbling for over an hour) that I have a problem with my wireless adapter and why I didn't pay for support so they could fix it. I told him that my adapter seemed to be working properly and that the AC 1750 could not connect to FIVE OTHER WIRELESS DEVICES and that changing the drivers on my laptop would make all of those others work. He never understood what I was saying and kept trying to get me to buy support. I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor called and immediately gave me further information about paid support and that my wireless adapter needed service. Eventually, as the conversation progressed, he asked if the other technician had suggested factory resetting the AC 1750. worked well by connecting to all my devices wirelessly. The technician in charge, who was still in control of my computer, opened NotePad and began working out a paid tech support promotional offer with "big discounts" that would cover all my hardware for only $400! Surprisingly, the router only cost $180. It was a really shocking experience. I would have expected a lot more from a well-known name like Netgear. The first helper was incompetent, the second barely. Both were extremely pushy and more interested in selling me what I don't need than in helping me with my warranty support. If you're tech-savvy then this router is probably fine, but if you feel like you need tech support then consider buying something else.
