Review on Filmtec 75 GPD Residential Membrane by Peter Alradwan

Absolute trash for plumbing and kitchen

Somehow this scammer ended up bundled with APEC products. I only noticed it after looking through my purchase history. APEC buys from Dow. Made in the USA. I *thought* that when I bought a complete filter replacement for my Revain APEC C-Top system, I had all the APEC-approved filters. It wasn't until I was more able to handle the ridiculously low flow rate that I went back and found that it wasn't an OEM for my R/O system. The earlier Dow 90 GPD R/O filter purchased by APEC through Revain as part of a complete C-Top system lasted almost 4 years. In fact, I only replaced it because my TDS meter went from 009 to 022ppm (with a reading of over 220ppm) and I figured it was definitely "time". This filter runs at 0.18ppm and takes over an hour to produce 2L after only 5 months of operation. That's only 12 gallons/day (48 L/day) when rated at 75 gallons/day (284 L). Efficiency 17%. Terrible. Purifying tap water is already wasteful, this garbage filter makes it 83% worse than it should be. Unfortunately, the Dow 90GPD filter for APEC systems does not appear to be available from Revain. Since it's been "too long" (although it's just a spike in the lifespan of a proper R/O filter), there doesn't seem to be a way out. I go to FreeDrinkingWater.com - APEC's home page - to buy the correct (and far better) R/O filter directly from them. Save money and dollars on your water bill - avoid that junk!
