Don't know why so many bad reviews? This case is perfect! I would never pour from a kettle without holding the lid in place and that goes for this Chemex lid too! There is no seal, it's just a glass lid that sits on top of the Chemex's neck to keep your coffee warm. I knit a blanket where the coffee is even warmer. You can't expect the lid alone to keep the coffee warm.
