Don't know why so many bad reviews? This case is perfect! I would never pour from a kettle without holding the lid in place and that goes for this Chemex lid too! There is no seal, it's just a glass lid that sits on top of the Chemex's neck to keep your coffee warm. I knit a blanket where the coffee is even warmer. You can't expect the lid alone to keep the coffee warm.

Fine but poor fit Chemex for 8 cups, it should cover the entire hole including the fill groove. As an original chemex accessory, it should fit perfectly with the chemex coffee machine, but it doesn't. I might consider adding a layer of homemade silicone to keep it from "glass on glass" sliding. It's thick and a good weight. It's aesthetically pleasing but not very functional. This should be reworked.

The first Chemex cap I received had apparently already been returned, covered in fingerprints and dirt. Insult. I requested a refund which was approved. The new one came with a torn damaged box which really sucks because I bought it as a gift for my girlfriend, looks very shabby. This could have been avoided with proper packaging. In a plain padded envelope? Spirit. . Think! Also, there are air bubbles stuck in the jar in the Chemex lid itself, I expected a lot more from this brand.

Described as a lid but the design does not match the shape of the Chemex coffee maker. The spout, which looks like a depression or gutter, is not sealed, allowing heat to escape sideways, making an iced coffee in minutes. It is better to replace the filter with ground coffee after the initial filling in the coffee maker and rotate the paper 45-180 degrees so that the thinner part of the wet filter fits against the channel, insulating and preventing heat from escaping. My significant other drinks coffee cold so I bought this lid to put Chemex in the fridge to cool down after I've had my cup(s) of coffee. hot coffee in the morning (I covered it with plastic wrap and hated waste). The lid is flat and doesn't cover the spout, giving fridge smells and the like plenty of room to get into the Chemex. I also find that leaving the filter in the Chemex after draining the water (and gently lifting it to pour) is better at keeping the coffee warm than this lid. All in…

Chemex brewers make fantastic coffee but it cools down quickly due to the thin glass, lack of insulation and opening the lid after removing the filter after brewing. This seems like the perfect solution, but it just doesn't work very well. The glass is nice and thick and feels solid, but it doesn't fit the brewery very well, at least not mine. Product is durable, complements the carafe aesthetically and keeps REALLY warm, I've tested this repeatedly. The vent allows heat to escape, but much more slowly than an open carafe. This is probably intentional. Borosilicate glass has a dependable coefficient of thermal expansion, but no glass makes the perfect pressure vessel for hot liquids - let your imagination run wild.
