Chemex brewers make fantastic coffee but it cools down quickly due to the thin glass, lack of insulation and opening the lid after removing the filter after brewing. This seems like the perfect solution, but it just doesn't work very well. The glass is nice and thick and feels solid, but it doesn't fit the brewery very well, at least not mine. It doesn't have a gasket or anything, so it's just glass on glass. You can expect a perfect fit as Chemex makes this product for their own brewers, but the loose fit makes it feel like something made by a third party. It also doesn't seal the spout, so a lot of heat escapes through that gap. After reading all the negative reviews I wasn't expecting this lid to keep my coffee warm for hours but I was hoping it would at least help. little. However, I couldn't tell any difference with or without the lid. The negative reviews are correct. Looks good but doesn't work!
