I got this for the kids to decorate. I have a little niece who just turned 6 & she was able to do this on her own after I showed her how to do it. It took about 10 minutes of hand-over-hand guided instructions, but once she understood how to apply the gems she was on her own.The baggies that hold the jewels are not resealable, and that was a huge issue as she wasn’t going to complete the entire thing in one day. To prevent the jewels from getting mixed up, I established a rule in the very beginning. Only one bag of jewels can be opened and on the tray at a time. Once she was done applying all the gems for that #/letter, then she would put it back in the baggie & have me open the new one (I sealed the open baggie with some tape). She was not allowed to open the baggies on her own or else they would splatter everywhere. She understood these instructions & stuck with them.After she was done decorating her mermaid, she peeled it off on her own & stuck it to her new little piggy bank. She was excited to be able to decorate the objects in her room with this (with the additional rule: not on the walls!).Having the bag of jewels not be resealable was my only problem, but in general this product was amazing and kept the kids busy for a long period of time. They were proud of their work as it was easy to complete and looked great once they were done. It’s easy to use, just make sure you give clear instructions in the beginning to make your life easier in the long run!
