To buy a teleconverter you have to work hard. Teleconverters aren't nearly as compatible with lenses, including those from the same manufacturer, as most people might assume. Although I use it with an old Nikkor 70200mm lens for sporting events, it's actually designed for longer telephoto lenses. If I had to do it all over again, given the softness of this short lens, I'd probably opt for a shorter Nikon teleconverter. However, the TC-20 II works with my smaller lens but none of my other lenses. So it's not as versatile as I was hoping. Therefore, the buyer should be careful. This is a very good teleconverter, but only with the right choice.
