My NCM Prague was delivered with mechanical brake discs. You started out fine, but you have to adapt every day or less to keep up. So I bought a set of cable operated hydraulic calipers. I didn't do this because I was afraid that my lack of knowledge would cause ordering a full installation to fail. I don't know how to determine ceiling mount, line length, reach if any and rotor size. So I figured that changing the caliper is the safe bet. Sure, but thoughtless. They engaged instantly, but even with extreme pressure on the lever, they operated at an almost dangerous level. I decided to clench my teeth. I bought a rack mount kit and it was $192 compared to the $145 I spent on the calipers which I returned as if they wanted to pump me up. This set caught fire immediately. The frontline is perfect and the backline is a bit longer, but that's not a problem. Depending on your brand and the location of your bar, there may be issues. The reservoir of the system is located in the head of the levers and protrudes up and down. My throttle and shifters can barely coexist with most of the fluid system. Its small size just forced me to tune the entire cluster to be ideal. This is acceptable to me, but petformance drivers may not be able to easily arrange parts in an acceptable layout. My cranks have a hard plastic inner sleeve that I had to make a 3/4 x 3/4 notch in to allow it to slide around the lever system. I agree, although it resulted in my controls being placed in a less ergonomic location. This is the only issue that can be an obstacle for achievement types. Remember these are BRAKES. And I mean BRAKES! could not have been better. I'm sure they do. But if you're picky enough or need better performance than this, don't even read this. You are fantastic! A light finger or two for occasional braking, and if you need to stop and pull hard, you better sit back. From 20 mph to a stop about 10 feet. I never tested but they stop right away. And when they're exposed on both sides, they shouldn't need constant readjustment. There is a small gap in the mounting holes. After moving house, my rotors didn't pull well. For some reason, the lateral alignment didn't end up exactly the same as it did before the brake wheel. That is why the mounting holes are easily cut. I had the same problem with the initial installation. The probable repair should be the same as I did both times: loosen the mounting bolts and compress the brake. Keep holding the brake and tighten it again. This should center the caliper. Any additional alignment adjustments can easily be corrected by the shim spacing on the axle.
