This is great value for money. The size is obviously odd. I wear M and L is what I should order. I bought the XL because it was all they had in stock and it still looks decent. I'm 5ft 6in, 130lbs and usually a size 7/8 and medium in most American jeans. Size XL fits me more than easily, but I've kept it and use it for winter riding here in the Southwest. leggings below. In fact, I use them to wear my gym leggings to and from the gym on a cold morning. I haven't used insoles so I can't comment on that. The high waist on size XL was really loose on me, but the looseness was reduced slightly thanks to the D-ring canvas belt that went through very nice belt loops. Even wearing this technically oversized size as it stretches a lot and feels more like jersey than jeans, I can still wear them as outer pants without the feeling. I'm looking at the L size of these pants [when they go on sale] so I can wear them as is [rather than as a coverall]. The length isn't too short for me as I wear riding boots and they look good when I put on my trainers at rest stops. Might be a bit short if you're taller than me, but could work if you want to tuck in the butt a bit to make it look more like a capri. The same happens when you wear shorter riding shoes. Definitely feel safer than just riding in workout clothes. Generally I am size M [usually] and size L would be what I should order, but the XL fits great as a decent looking overpant. Hope that helps.
