Great concept. The only real issue I had (which was the deciding factor) was the thickness of the strap. had to use 2 other pieces of tape to create a 3 point system (1 on the blade and 1 on each end of my saw table) to soften the slight tilt created by the thickness of the tape on the blade. If I have to use 3 pieces of tape to set up a zero gap makeshift panel I can just buy/make a zero gap fit - which I wanted to avoid from the start no problem for you then I found that the tape has good strength and flexibility. The adhesive has good tack but is not too aggressive.
