So here it is in a nutshell. I thought about docking a star for a number of reasons, but after some use decided against it, but still want to mention the cons. I've been working with this screen for 2 days now, so bear in mind that my rating at the moment has nothing to do with the durability of the product. When I received it I immediately opened it to set up my dual screen. I work in software development and need 2 displays, after getting a macbook pro from my company, I put off buying an adapter or dongle because of the price; So I (unfortunately) worked from a single screen of my choice. I saw this on a better day at a lightning fast deal and decided to take a chance rather than buy an adapter which is around $100-$110. I'm glad I made this choice. When I opened the box and tried to connect it I assumed it would be a very minimal job and that was it. if I had read the instructions first (another point that is my fault). I quickly got frustrated trying to set it up before my next meeting. Realizing I was being impulsive, I slowed down to read the manual. And so I made a mistake between the USB-C ports; It worked for me in no time. That brings me to the next point. The USB-C port for power delivery is on the right side of the monitor. It was a ride I hadn't caught before. The USB-C connector for the connection cable from the monitor to the Mac is on the left side. It's not a big deal, but it's a little annoying. Ideally, to prevent cables from moving in odd directions or around the back of your monitors, you should use it as a right dual screen. If you're anything like me and a man of habit then this is a little confusing. It's not the end of the world, I just like my other screen on the left, but I'll switch and adjust on the right so I don't get tangled in cables. The other downside was the power cord. it's about maybe 2 feet. It barely reaches from my wall to my desk. If you want to order this I highly recommend ordering a longer cable and saving yourself the time waiting for one later. However, I didn't need to charge the monitor? I haven't checked for an internal battery yet, but I assume it turns on without being connected to anything. However, when plugged into a laptop rather than an outlet, it seems to run for as long as it needs to. I'm assuming this monitor is powered by the PC and uses that as its power source (which, if true, is pretty cool). There's also no battery indicator anywhere on the monitor, so I think that's even more the case, but if so, why would a power cord be needed when the monitor will only run on what's available? associated with it? Not sure yet, need to do some research. The settings are a small minus for me, if at some point the monitor turns off, the settings don't seem to be saved. So I have to go back and reset the brightness and volume. again no big deal. Finally the case. I don't have many complaints. Most monitors don't even come with it. This case serves its purpose, although it may not be the best quality in the world. I trust it to do what I need and not having to add it separately was a bonus. This is good enough quality. Plus points in its functionality - apart from the odd placement of input cords and other elements, this portable monitor has a really nice quality and works very well. Navigation is the rotary knob that I personally prefer. I feel like devices with rotary buttons and no fancy navigation tend to have longer lifespans. I don't need anything advanced, just a quality monitor. The screen has a matte finish that I really like, you don't have any bright reflection. I would really like to say more to express the quality of the monitor, but there is nothing more than an end to all the negatives. is trivial to me compared to the product and its performance. I can live making it my real monitor, I can survive buying a new longer power cord, it's not the end of the world if I have to reset from time to time, and I'm not dying of quality of the housing. All of this cannot outweigh how beautiful this monitor looks and how heavy it feels. It's very easy to set up and run (if you're careful to read and not just guess), it's fully compatible, and I'm so happy I was lucky enough to find a Prime Day deal, but even if I wouldn't have done it. it is worth full price. Moral. I seriously recommend choosing this monitor over any other that you can find at Revain. This is a hidden gem in a sea of low quality portable monitors.
