What worried me the most was the range. Before that I used a Mijia hub to connect to Home Assistant with a custom Xiaomi add-on, but the range was very limited. I needed a location line or close to it for everything to work. I thought about getting additional hubs and just adding them in every room I wanted Zigbee sensors and switches in, but I quickly realized that this would be an expensive solution. So I decided to give it a try and wow the joystick was easy to set up and the range is excellent. My Home Assistant server is about 4 walls between my bedroom and I can connect my smart switches. I even took them outside and the signal could reach. I saw virtually no lag at any distance I tested. The price is worth it if you doubt it and want to use wireless sensors and switches. Another big plus is that I can disconnect the Mijia hub from my wifi.
