We looked for an alternative to our family favorite SkyDog router sold by Comcast (ugh!) and then all of it has been closed . This is the first that comes close to a similar simple but powerful interface. Yes, there are some early bugs (UI needs an overhaul), but so far so good. what does it do Allows users to be easily created, which are then linked to multiple devices (e.g. laptop, phone, etc.). You can then assign web filtering policies and time limits to these users. You can also check what's going on with the logs to see if anyone is trying to circumvent the restrictions. :) Let's see how it handles MAC spoofing or VPN bypass (TBC). Skydog has never done this but hopes to get a little smarter. Overall so good with this product so far. Wishlist so far: - Policies are not based on WiFi. We use mixed networks (Wi-Fi/Ethernet) and single Wi-Fi hotspots and would like parent vs child to be policy based rather than Wi-Fi SSID. - Allow policy-based enforcement of safe search and whether policy-based web history is logged or not. - QoS: Kids eat tons of bandwidth with games and need some kind of QoS - Improved usage charts (similar to SkyDog) where you can see at a glance who is using what bandwidth, right on the dashboard. - Ability to temporarily change the child's schedule (again, like SkyDog). Keep up the good work of the Blocksi team!
