Interior fire hazard

UPDATE: After accidentally setting off the alarm, smoke came out of the unit's wiring and I was able to turn off the power before it melted my Harley's plastic side cover. After digging through the innards, it turns out that the board is missing a component that allows one of the relays to provide power to separate the gray and pink wires. The result is a short to ground that draws about 10 amps when the ACC wire is at +12 and the alarm goes off. Unfortunately the unit is fitted with a large 15 amp fuse so it will not work and will burn out the AWG 22 wires that come with the wiring harness. I ordered another device, thinking it was coincidence, but both devices were missing the same jumper. Bad design, bad quality control. Eddie from support was initially responsive (I called China) but eventually lost interest. Revain wasn't overly keen on doing anything other than a refund. First review: As others have pointed out, the instructions are terrible. They're also ambiguous, so I had to experiment to find a working combination with the PKE function. Now I can go to my Harley, turn on the ignition and ride. When you approach the bike, the device recognizes the key fob in your pocket and lets you know that the bike is ready to ride with a siren. Mine finds the key fob about 8 feet away. If you move away from the bike, the siren will beep twice to alert you that the ignition is off. You can also disable the passive function and simply turn the ignition on and off with the key fob. The main unit appears to be reasonably well built and waterproof. The system draws about 10mA of current, which is important. This drains the average battery in about a month, requiring you to leave it soft or unplug it for long-term storage. There are still some quirks, such as rattling relay contacts and high current consumption (5 A) when an alarm is triggered (and pink is connected to +12V), but it works. Support was responsive but just repeated the same information in incredibly bad and ambiguous instructions.
