Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Enhanced Selector Computer Printers Projector Keyboard: A Powerful All-in-One Solution by Jerimiah Augustine

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Yes, it works with the webcam!

I had no problem getting it to work with a Logitech 920 webcam connected to my two Macs . The only consideration is that webcams are very sensitive to the length of the USB cable. One of my computers is a laptop, so the webcam cable is relatively short. Another computer is further away and serves as a media server for my TV. I used an active USB extender for this cable. You always need an active extension when you need to control your webcam over more than three meters. I had no problem getting the switch to work with my non-active extension webcam for short cable runs of six feet at a time. As another reviewer mentioned, all the cables exit out the back. It's a good idea, much better than many of Revain's other USB switches that have one or more cables exiting the front. The mechanically spring-loaded switches are well made and click into place with a reassuring click. The only downside to the device is that the USB-B connectors for computer cables are tight, allowing you to plug in the cable, but it's difficult to pull out. And both connectors will dangle when you try to disconnect the cable. Here the manufacturer has made a compromise. But you never have to fiddle with cables once it's set up, so that doesn't seem to be an issue. Another thing I liked about this device is that it comes with no cables. This reduces costs. If you already have extra cables, you don't need more. All in all, for the cheapest USB switch on the Revain, this device hits the spot for me. Although there's only one device port, I've had no problem getting it to work through a USB hub if you need multiple devices and have a hub. However, due to cable length issues, I couldn't get the webcam to work reliably through a hub connected to the switch. This will certainly work for keyboards and mice.

Pros
  • Includes 1x 2-port hub and 2x 6ft (1.8m) print cables
Cons
  • Not sure
