Perfect solution to a simple problem

I wanted 2 computers to share keyboard, mouse and monitor. The monitor has separate inputs from each computer, so I really only needed one switch to connect the USB keyboard and monitor (no KVM switch). This device only accepts one USB input and switches it to one of the two USB output ports. My keyboard has a USB connector for a mouse, so the USB cable from the keyboard carries signals from both the keyboard and the mouse. Yes, it works with the webcam!

I had no problem getting it to work with a Logitech 920 webcam connected to my two Macs . The only consideration is that webcams are very sensitive to the length of the USB cable. One of my computers is a laptop, so the webcam cable is relatively short. Another computer is further away and serves as a media server for my TV. I used an active USB extender for this cable. You always need an active extension when you need to control your webcam over more than three meters. I had no problem getting
