This item should be used as a meeting venue. I had two short throw projectors and wanted a TV monitor next to me, and that's exactly what I wanted. GoFanco and use cat5e but Cat6 is what you want to use as instructed. That being said, I started using cat5e (black) and one of the short throw projectors was 80 feet away and worked with no issues. The red 5e coil (100ft) started cycling on and off after a few hours so we got the 50ft coil 6 and there was no problem after that. You could use 100ft as the product says, up to 165ft, but that's all we bought for now. The HDMI output to the monitor worked fine. I'm so glad I found out because I was willing to buy 100 HDMI cables along with a GoFanco HDMI splitter.
