Works great with managed gigabit switches!

Installed in a concert hall where we had to regularly move the position of our HDMI input to the projector. It's been a long time getting 20 feet in the air and rerouting a ridiculous HDMI cable. I rewired the whole club to CAT6e last summer but was a bit skeptical that this would work because the cabling literature is very keen that when using a switch it should be a dedicated switch with no management features or QoS. Well, all my cables end in a Netgear ProSafe 724 with dedicated VLANs and…

Update from 05/20/20: Today the transmitter also failed. This works well when it works, but products are prone to failure. So far I have had a total of 4 receivers and one transmitter failure over a period of 4 years. If you can afford to replace them every 2-4 years, you can buy them. ============================================== = === === I had a transmitter along with 4 receivers with a TP-LINK (TL-SG105) 5-port Gigabit Ethernet desktop switch. It was easy to install and worked well to meet

Easy to install but bad picture quality.

tl;dr----You can "do the job" for certain scenarios, but if you care about even modest image quality, look elsewhere. Long story ---- I bought these so I can mount our TV over the fireplace and put the AV receiver and sources in a rack in the closet. I only ran Cat5e cable in the fireplace wall (for temporary installation) and Cat6 from the TV to the shelf in the closet. I then connected the HDMI and Ethernet cables and everything worked as expected. I don't use IR. Then I noticed that the…

Don't repeat my mistake, buy! Continue reading.

Let me start by saying that I bought many other HDMI Cat6 extenders before I bought them that were cheaper and damn I regretted it after I bought it! My original project was to run two Category 6 cables (Cable Material, Heavy Duty Cat6, 23 AWG, UL Listed, CM Rated, 550MHz) connecting to a CCTV DVR in the building and to a TV on the second floor were connected. The distance was about 130-140 feet. I've bought Category 6 HDMI extenders from brands like Monoprice ($59), Sabrent ($39), and Portta…

UPDATED: They are absolutely worth the money!

UPDATE 2/8/18: So the rating below remains true! It's been over a year since we implemented this solution and the installation continues to work 100% with no issues. I was so impressed with the product's performance and reliability that I recently decided to try it out at our conferences we hold on the go. So we host meetings all over the west coast, where we bring a lot of our own gear to install in the hotel's grand ballrooms. We bring our own TVs and projectors to share the image with…
