Review on Tripp Lite 24-Port 1U Rackmount Cat5e Patch Panel - Black, RJ45 Ethernet 568B (N052-024) by Brian Dildine

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good choice!: Ethernet cable

Very happy with this panel. My house was connected to Cat5e but used for phone lines (which few people use anymore thanks to cell phones). This allowed me to adapt the existing cabling to include it in my network with the switch installed next to it. Installation was easy, color coded T568a/b on the back for easy wiring (requires a punch tool and there aren't many if you're looking for a quality model for home use). Simply install the bracket, snapping the patch panel back into place to hold it in place while you pull through your runs. Then remove it from the bracket, flip it over and snap it back into place, right side out. Then run the patch cord from the lines you ran to the attached switch and you're done. If it's a clean run, then you're done. If you're using existing Cat5e that was originally used for phone lines, make sure you buy Cat5e plugs to plug into the wall in your rooms. No issues or issues, works like a champ and very happy with it.

Cons
  • The list is getting long.
