If you have a small cabling job, or just a job that makes installing a standard patch panel mount in a rack impractical, this is just great. Anyone can install this, but you need to know how to use a hammer drill, know the basics of wiring, and have a way to test it when you're done. You are using a standard 66 block wall mount. You screw the plastic wall mount to the wall, and then the patch panel snaps itself into place. I like this system because you can detach the patch panel from the wall…

Good choice!: Ethernet cable

Very happy with this panel. My house was connected to Cat5e but used for phone lines (which few people use anymore thanks to cell phones). This allowed me to adapt the existing cabling to include it in my network with the switch installed next to it. Installation was easy, color coded T568a/b on the back for easy wiring (requires a punch tool and there aren't many if you're looking for a quality model for home use). Simply install the bracket, snapping the patch panel back into place to hold it

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Good budget patch panel.

I'm an IT professional and I'm writing this as a business owner specializing in IT support and services for small businesses and consumers. This patch panel arrived in a small white box with a little insulation to protect the patch panel. It contains basic instructions that may seem confusing to the layperson. I emptied the contents of the box and removed the wall mount. I was then able to attach the bracket to the base plate. Once that's done, you can snap the patch panel back onto the mount…

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

The perfect patch panel!

This was just what I needed to clear the area where my network cable connects to my router. The panel is good quality and was easy to install (I have been in telecom/structured cabling for 15 years so had little experience installing patch panels). I installed the cage and snapped the panel into place so the patches side was facing in. The markings were clear and easy to figure out how to arrange wire pairs to get 568A or 568B connectors (I chose 568B but either will work). if it is the same at

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Reliability

BAD connections are good for cables and connections

About 20 years ago I wired my house but because I didn't know what I was doing I didn't use a punch block. Now that I've been online for a few years, I've decided to do it right. Try using this block. I tried the 4 blocks on the left 1,2,3,4 and they all seem to be labeled wrong. I checked the path cables with my Wire Shark tool and they were fine. I tried reversing the connections and block and using the a or b method. Nothing prevents me from choosing the right contact. I will try another…

Good patch panel. Works as advertised.

Works great. I bought it to install in my Leviton media box but after reading some reviews I decided to mount it over the box and route the cable into the box. After installation, there were concerns that the Cat5 connectors would stick out too far to close the media cabinet door. Once installed I think if you gently bend the Cat5 to fit it will fit. Can't say exactly because I didn't do it. Love the fact that you can flip the panel to reveal the back to penetrate incoming Cat5. As you add…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
