Review on Tripp Lite 24-Port 1U Rackmount Cat5e Patch Panel - Black, RJ45 Ethernet 568B (N052-024) by Douglas Berry

Easy installation for small projects or when you don't have room for a rack patch panel.

If you have a small cabling job, or just a job that makes installing a standard patch panel mount in a rack impractical, this is just great. Anyone can install this, but you need to know how to use a hammer drill, know the basics of wiring, and have a way to test it when you're done. You are using a standard 66 block wall mount. You screw the plastic wall mount to the wall, and then the patch panel snaps itself into place. I like this system because you can detach the patch panel from the wall mount, flip it, turn it upside down and just poke through all your wires. - then just fold it back when you're done! In addition, he passed the test with flying colors! I bought three of these and punched 20 ports. I had a cabling job so everything had to be in a small closet that just didn't fit in the rack mounting system. I used Cat6 500MHz cable and Cat5e Keystone on the other side. Every pass I made was rated better than Category 6 for speed - after correcting the one I missed! I've used this style before. Be careful, some come with a 66 block mount and some don't. But this version of Tripp Lite works great. I bought three Category 5e Tripp Lites in July 2015 and one Category 6 Tripp Lite in June 2014. I've installed many patch panels and have no complaints about Tripp Lite.
