Overall this rug is pretty good. It is very soft, like a fluffy carpet. It doesn't really look like moss to me (not even artificial moss) but more like a shaggy carpet. It's soft, but with spots and strange dark spots. I've been using it at the bottom of my tree frog tank for about a month and this rug just soaks up water and holds it like a sponge. I use a tank sprayer and this carpet stays wet and disgusting. Because of this, it never dries out, but simply retains and enhances the smell of frog droppings and urine. Washing is pretty disgusting. This might be fine for a completely dry setup like a desert, but certainly nothing remotely wet. It's no worse than the hassle of returning it, so I just threw it away instead. Still looking for the best double bottom.
