Updated 12/1 Replacement arrived quickly, booted, hard drive didn't click, cameras connected with minimal issues. Replaced my previous system with this one. Why only 4 stars - universal connector design - crap. The small angle adjustment screw can remove the head easily. Not very strong and I think it breaks easily. - Switching subnets isn't very easy - IR at night is great, it lights up the area perfectly (if they start failing I'll update) - Out of the box it can be seen on the web. Pros & Cons (+) You can get traffic alerts and see what's going on anywhere in real time. (-) I would have preferred to have more control over what is exposed to the internet - the system sets up the cameras up there on the VLAN, so that's good - the software and UI are pretty poor. should move with the mouse (assuming the mouse is very cheap) - motion zones are easy to set up and change - overall a pretty good deal for the cost. I will update if anything changes or the cameras go down soon. send it back and look for a replacement. I hooked up 2 cameras and a monitor for testing before encountering an installation issue. The DVR booted up, went through the initial setup, the cameras are on, the LED is on and flashing, the IR illuminator turns on in a dark place, but they never show pictures/videos, the program doesn't see them. it was offline The same result when connected to the network. The hard drive makes a loud and audible clicking noise.
