Very stable base footprint remains constant whether empty or full.The knifes aren't the best in the world but much better than other collections. The included sharpener works good if you understand and practice using it. The knives cover all your basic everyday needs and is perfect for day to day use. Easy to hand wash which is much better than dishwasher which, depending on the cleaner you use, isn't as harsh on the finishes.We use this set for a rental cabin we maintain and try to make as "glam" as possible.Very pleased.
