They should last a long time.

I washed the dishes before use and have washed quite a few since purchasing. They are of sufficient size in length and surface. The wood is porous and I believe it should be hand washed to prolong the life of the handles. I would definitely avoid soaking them in water. They are well made and should last a long time with proper care. I bought the gray one to match my decor. I didn't want them to stand out.
