Review on MICHELIN Latitude Cross 235/60 R16 104H summer by Stanisaw Frank ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I should have looked better, spent money on an ordinary product.

This is my second set of these tires. Prior to that, I went to 215 / 65R16 with a load index of 98 (regular requirements). I decided to replace it with the same ones, but they are not produced with the same index, only 102. I asked the representative office a question, they recommended me to take the 102nd index and not worry, the tire weight is the same 11.2 kg. But in fact, tires with an index of 102 are noticeably stiffer and noisier than the 98th index. Apparently the rubber is more wear-resistant, tougher. On the ground it is not noticeable, but on the asphalt I got a negative.

Pros
  • Managed super, very accurate steering. Holds the trajectory well, does not feel the track. Thanks to the asymmetric pattern and structure. Holds the road normally, worse than highways, but with heavy braking it slows down well, it feels like it swims up in corners, especially in the heat. The cross-country ability is satisfactory, it’s the most for country roads, but you don’t need to go into serious dirt - it’s understandable, this is an under-AT tire, essentially a highway tire, but with the ability to drive on weak off-road. It’s very frustrating how the tire rides on bad asphalt at speed. In fact, I would recommend (if it were not for weak wear resistance) for long-distance travel. On intercity roads, you can go very quickly and not pay attention to potholes.
Cons
  • Floats in the heat, treadwear = 320 - a rather low value, when used on asphalt, it is confirmed, it wears off noticeably. But the softness of the rubber, on the other hand, allows you to smooth out the noise from the asphalt.
