Review on πŸš— 4 Channel Car Amplifier – BOSS Audio Systems R1004 Riot Series, 400 Watts, Full Range, Class A/B, 2 Ohm Stable, IC (Integrated Circuit) – Ideal for Car Speakers and Stereos by Jared Surabhi

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Died on arrival but Revain sent a replacement.

This amplifier was defective on arrival and Revain will not accept returns on this item (read update) even if it is within 30 days and I have it Bought directly from Amazon and not from a third party. I knew it was a cheap amp but I figured what the heck if it doesn't work I can just send it back and make it work. But I was wrong. I bought the main unit, speakers and this amp from Amazon to replace the stereo in my Airstream. everything arrived and looked good, and within three days I took out everything old, built new speakers and reinstalled everything. Only 2 out of 4 channels work. I can swap the speaker wires and make sure all 4 speakers are working and I can swap the RCAs to make sure there is a signal coming out of the four channels of the main unit, but the right side of the bar has no output. Don't buy this amp, or at least not from Amazon, it's not worth the risk. Update: After emailing Revain's customer service department they apologized and said that returns can sometimes not be processed depending on item value and shipping costs, but they already had a new one in the mail for me and I was able to just keep the old one. I'm glad Revane took care of it. The channel that worked sounded great for the price so I'm looking forward to getting the amp working in the system.

Pros
  • Class A/B Topology – Class "A" amplifiers have a large amount of current flowing through their output transistors when no audio signal is present. Class B amplifiers do not pass current through their outputs with no audio signal
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
