Sounds terrible unless you like distortion over music.

Do yourself a favor and avoid the temptation to buy a good amp at a low price. There are a lot of reviews here saying it's good and a lot of people saying it's bad, so I decided to give it a try. I might as well put in the box the thing came in because it would probably sound better. Any increase in the output of your speakers is just distortion. Yes, it will be a little louder, but it will sound like crap. This item is non-refundable, so once you receive it you will be stuck with a useless…

Pros
  • Power - 100w max x 4 into 2 ohms, 50w max x 4 into 4 ohms

Requires 9VDC to turn on?! [R3002]

Am I missing something? It's not like I'm constantly installing 12 volt audio equipment. but I'm certainly not a beginner or newbie. I've never heard of a 9VDC requirement for remote turn on. Always had 5VDC. Are there any head units that emit a 9VDC signal? I can set it up to run on 12VDC with some kind of EXTRA switch or something. but why should i do that!? I don't see anything in the published specs that says 9V DC is required. The only place it's mentioned is at the bottom of the…

Pros
  • Full-range - With a full-range amplifier you have the option of switching on not only loudspeakers but also subwoofers.
Cons
  • disappearing noises

Installed on a golf cart, works EXCELLENT!

I am a professional golf cart technician and installed this booster on my personal golf cart. My setup consists of a Kenwood car radio receiver (KMM-BT322) and four 6.5-inch Kenwood speakers (KFC-1665S). I was looking for a cheap system and this whole kit was only about $170 including the quad amp wiring. a kit that I also bought here at Revain. I have an amplifier and radio hooked up directly to a golf cart 12v auxiliary battery. You will get a lot of noise from the cart motor, controller…

Pros
  • Low and High Level Inputs - The low level (RCA) input is measured in voltages. The high-level input (+/- cable) is measured in watts. Both essentially carry the signal from the receiver to the amplifier and speakers.
Cons
  • Generally good, but...

Died on arrival but Revain sent a replacement.

This amplifier was defective on arrival and Revain will not accept returns on this item (read update) even if it is within 30 days and I have it Bought directly from Amazon and not from a third party. I knew it was a cheap amp but I figured what the heck if it doesn't work I can just send it back and make it work. But I was wrong. I bought the main unit, speakers and this amp from Amazon to replace the stereo in my Airstream. everything arrived and looked good, and within three days I took out…

Pros
  • Class A/B Topology – Class "A" amplifiers have a large amount of current flowing through their output transistors when no audio signal is present. Class B amplifiers do not pass current through their outputs with no audio signal
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

This device is clearly not designed to punch through more than a couple of door speakers. So many people are having trouble with the amp and it seems many of them are using it incorrectly. It is not intended to be bypassed and used to power a subwoofer. It is designed to slightly amplify the door speakers compared to the stock amplifier in the main unit. I also read a lot of reviews about loud engine noise. I had this problem too. This problem is usually caused by several reasons: 1) Poor…

Pros
  • Variable Gain Control - Gain control is not intended for volume control. It simply adjusts the strength of the signal coming from the receiver and going to the amplifier.
Cons
  • Null
