I own nine 100 and 150 watt quartz halogen wall sconces used in the bathrooms, hallway and bedrooms. Replacing those hot, energy-sucking and hazardous halogen bulbs with LED bulbs was a revelation. The warm white LEDs closely match the light output of a regular 100 watt halogen bulb. I liked these LED's so much that I retrofitted my larger 150 watt wall sconces to take the smaller 118mm R7S LED's.These 10 watt LED bulbs save on electricity, of course, but they are also safer. Halogen bulbs get hot enough to ignite paper and last year I had one explode, showering a bathroom with glass shards. Plus I don't feel guilty leaving the lights on when I leave a room--heck, I can light up the whole house with less power than a single 100 watt bulb!LED bulbs are long-lived and this manufacturer encloses these updated bulbs in a protective glass sheath. (Earlier LED 118mm bulbs leave the LED grid exposed.)If your halogen light uses 100 or 150 watt 118mm halogen bulbs, don't hesitate to replace them with these LED's. A big, fat five stars!
