Review on 🍊 Shop Presto! Biobased Hand Soap, Wild Citrus Scent - 12 fl oz (Pack of 6) on Amazon by Teresa Quinney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good/safer ingredients (5 stars), expensive for non-refillable (3 stars)

So how do you rate hand soap? You use it and determine if it's worse or better than what you already have. If price is important to you, compare, and if ingredients are important, look at them. I'll do my best 3. Shortlist: (NEUTRAL) Lack of fragrance isn't a plus for me as I like the fragrance, but I'm flexible here. They sell some with flavors so I might try those too. (NEGATIVE) Costing three times more than refills is not a plus. I also don't want any additional waste of plastic containers. Maybe they will offer replenishment in the future. (POSITIVE) The ingredients seem good. Less like a chemistry set than some of the others. SCENT: NO. Since it's fragrance-free, I can't rate the smell. He does not do it. For those who want to know. It really has no smell. USE: At this time of year, both in winter and around Thanksgiving, my hands get irritated by more than usual cooking due to the dry heat both at home and at work, as well as in my car and frequent washing. It is in order. At first I thought the soap might dry out unusually, but time is the bigger issue I think. COST: higher than my spares as it comes in separate containers. I couldn't find a refill option so it's not apples for apples. For comparison, I've added the cost of a container of Method brand hand soap. Presto Liquid Hand Soap: Costs 6 x 12 ounce or 72 ounce containers for $17.49 ($0.24 per fl oz). Mountain Falls Liquid Hand Soap: 56 fl. Ounce. $3.84 ($0.07 per fl oz) Wegmans Moisturizing Liquid Hand Soap Refill, 64 fl oz. Ounce. $5.49 ($0.09 per fl. oz.) Hand Wash Method, Cucumber: 12 fl. oz. Ounce. $2.99 ($0.25 per fl oz) INGREDIENTS: I've included a few other than these here. I reviewed my previous hand soap a few weeks ago, as well as Method hand soap, another national brand. I'm not a chemist and I'm not really someone who really consciously chooses only natural products, but I see that there are various commercial proposals here. .Presto Hand Soap Says: Fragrance Free, Dye Free, Triclosan Free, Phthalate Free and Not Tested on Animals. Highlights of the Mountain Falls Liquid Soap: Free from triclosan. Wegman's soap emphasizes: Free from triclosan, sulfates, parabens, phthalates. Hand soap has not been tested. Hand soap method says: naturally derived, no triclosan. It seems that triclosan are the bad guys and aren't in any of them. Animal testing is not only mentioned in Presto hand soap and Wegmans soap. But phthalates can be found in Mountain Falls and Method hand soaps. Some phthalates are "probably" endocrine disruptors. However, judging by the names, I don't see them on the ingredients list. Let's assume phthalate should be in the name because when I looked for it they were. Sulfates in the atmosphere were previously known to cause acid rain, but the organosulfates mentioned here are not. Wegmans is the only one to mention the lack of sulfates, so we're assuming they're the only ones who don't have them. Dyes are clearly not in Presto soap, but in all others. Others weren't fragrance-free either, so they have a flavor component in them. I know that in an app that flagged products that might have issues, the unnamed flavors tended to flag them. At this point I think you need to pick your poison? I think I will continue to use both Presto Liquid Hand Soap and Mountain Falls Liquid Hand Soap. What I read about the two products shown below but not mentioned above got me thinking: **** Methylchloroisothiazolinone**** Methylisothiazolinone, found in both Wegmans and Method soaps. If there are problems with further use, I will publish a repost.
