I was so excited to try this product because traditional lipstick never lasts long on my lips. I'm very happy with it! The app is a little tricky, but it gets easier with practice. At first I applied and kept my mouth open while the stain set, but this was very uncomfortable because it's difficult to swallow and speak with your mouth open. I learned that it's easier to apply the color in a thick layer (as gently as possible to apply it evenly and accurately), rub the lips than you would apply regular lipstick (immediately after application, before it starts to get firm), use my fingernail to fix any mistakes and smooth out the edges, and then just keep my lips closed until it hardens. It's a lot easier and I just keep preparing while my lips dry. It's impossible to speak at this point because if you part your lips while it dries it will crack and peel off. The stain lasts on me for about 6 hours but I'm very happy with it because it lasts MUCH longer than a regular lipstick and I LOVE that you don't have to worry about it lifting from anything else. Once installed in the morning I don't even think about it for the rest of the day! It lasts through exercising, eating, drinking, kissing. That's great! I bought a pack of 6 to try all the colors and will be reordering each color in my favorite shades. All the colors are pleasant and not too bright (despite the initial brightness when applied). I find the results look natural and not too much makeup. I don't wear a lot of makeup and I prefer a casual, comfortable, not-too-ruffled look and this product achieves that. My natural lip color is pretty muted so I love the slight boost of color I get from blemishes. Sometimes I only wear a stain and no other makeup. I always apply lip balm after applying a stain, maybe that's why it doesn't last as long? But I'm a lip balm fanatic. With or without stain. I don't feel the need to put lip balm on the stain. I just always wear lip balm. Buy it, you will love it!
