Review on 🌬️ Nordic Pure 14X20X1 Pleated Air Filter - Superior Performance and Durability by Alex Jones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Much fewer pleats per foot than Filtrete 3M

When ordering, I found Nordic Pure filters only had 16 pleats per foot compared to over 50 per foot for Filtrete 3M (for filters) Merv 13 or higher), resulting in a 20% increase in pressure drop for Nordic Pure filters compared to Filtrete filters with the same Merv rating, which can cause problems in some ventilation systems. The difference increases with age, as fewer creases (plus a slightly thinner thickness of 3/4β€³ compared to 1β€³ for Filtrete) means less surface area for dust pickup, so the filter clogs faster. So if you have a lot of dust, you will need to change it Nordic Pure filters are much more frequent than Filtrete 3M filters. They're still good value compared to Filtrete filters, unless you have a high dust exposure and can only change them every 3 months: I'm only giving one star because the filters aren't marked with a Merv rating (or a another way to find out what filter you have). In the future I will try Filtrete Merv 13 filters (MPR=2200) which are currently sold at Costco for $11.50 per filter ($46 per filter). box 4 and free shipping). You can also get Filtrete Merv 14 (MPR=2800) but at $58 for 2 (at Revain) they are too expensive for me and a better deal than this Merv 14 Nordic Pure if you have enough dust to use Nordic Pure filters to clog in 6 weeks or less.
