Review on ♟️ Magnetic Travel Chess Set with Checkbook Feature by Darryl Montagna

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great travel set. SAVE the perforated sheet.

Great travel chess set. Before I continue, here's a note: in other reviews, users describe the plastic bag as a place to store the parts, and then describe how they fall out. To prevent this, SAVE the magnetic sheet you cut the parts from. When I'm done, I just take each piece and press it back into the circle on the sheet with my thumb. After a few "in and outs" they get in and out very easily. Then the sheet fits snugly in the plastic bag without parts falling out. It is also convenient to manage the captured parts during the game. PROS: The set itself is very functional. The center crease is small so the diagonals are well aligned and not distracting. The pieces hold tight but are easy to slide or pick up with your hands. Turning it upside down or tilting it will not affect the position of the pieces. The board has green squares for more contrast. CONS: The appearance is black and the cover has a flashy "US CHESS FEDERATION" with a chessboard and a knight. I seem to have missed it in the description. I would have preferred all black to be incognito when closed. The exterior has a rough feel like it's cracking, but so far it's been pretty durable. I'm glad I bought this set! I'm glad I bought it.
