Review on Replacement Cartridge Assembly for Delta Monitor 1700 Series Tub/Shower Faucet Valve from 1998-2005 by Jump Robinson
Easy installation once you take apart the old one.
On the old assembly, the inner rubber broke and got stuck in the valve, shutting off the water immediately. Corrosion on the bronze bushing made it very difficult to unscrew. Fitting the new rubber caps and springs to the internal slots is tricky but had enough patience with one finger. The new cartridge worked perfectly, although the water consumption went down slightly. Please note that the cartridge has a tab that needs to be inserted into the slot in the old case.
