Review on 📶 Alfa AC1900 WiFi Adapter - High-Speed Long-Range Dual Band USB 3.0 Wi-Fi Network Adapter with External Antennas by Sean Powers

I rarely write reviews but I feel I should review this product lest security professionals make the same mistake I did. This product is the true definition of "new doesn't mean great". I have a couple of Alftas that I use for my wireless penetration testing and to be honest they work. However, I've decided to use this version of the AC 1900 for my upcoming wireless pentest (due to the hype I've heard about it) and regret not paying attention to the reviews from others here. First of all, this thing comes with a driver installation CD and there is no way to get drivers from the internet, not even from the Alfa website. Serious? Really Alpha? That's why I'm asking this question. How many modern laptops already have a CD-ROM, not to mention the majority of people who will use this device in virtual machines? After a few seconds, I followed every step I could find online (including the de facto aircrack instructions on Github) and that crap doesn't work. In fact, it hijacks the USB port after I unplugged it from my Kali VM. Even if it is no longer connected, "lsusb" still shows that this device is still connected and any attempts to connect another one from my Alftas will not work because the USB was captured from my previous AC 1900. So be careful if you intend to use this for security work or use it on Kali or ParrotOS. THIS THING DOESN'T WORK ON POTASSIUM OR PARROTS. Unless someone can show how this works on the latest version of Kali.
