Light enough to easily toss in a bag or leave on a small tripod/monopod. Fairly firm to the touch, but the movement is sticky in both pan and ball - the pivoting in particular has an almost gritty feel to it, as if the parts weren't cleaned well before assembly at the factory. That's to be expected from such a cheap head. Avoid this if you have any size DSLR or larger tripod mounting points - the grips are small and very close to the body of the head. Fumbling with the plate or ball lock is awkward, especially when trying to access the bubble level under the plate when resetting. In general it works like a ball head, but if I had known that the action was so rough or that the grips were rather uncomfortable I would have skipped it.
