I chose it because I need a good dark thick coffee and I like old world things. When I lift the basket and let the water settle and sink into the grinder, it makes a delicious drink. I'm going to buy an espresso machine anyway. But good for a change. Although I'd happily afford a bigger one (they tend to be very expensive). But it's good for one person if you let it steep for a few minutes. The processing is good and withstands high temperatures. don't let it boil As soon as steam comes out of the hole or spout, remove it from the stove, turn it over and let it sit. It was both a hit and a miss until I realized the water at the top wasn't saturated with grind. Keep your grind in order. Pack it lightly, if at all. Too narrow and I think the water is difficult to filter.
