Received this four-cup coffee maker today. Washed removable parts, and ran water through the system four times. Made a couple of cups of coffee that tasted okay.Pros: Good basic coffee maker, reusable filter, carafe pours without dribbling, heating tray keeps coffee in carafe warm, steel panels are attractive.Cons: Plastic smell that I hope will fade in time. What are those molecules that must be in the coffee doing to my liver? Are they carcinogenic? Annoying overflow hole in the back of the unit that spills water onto the counter if you try to fill the reservoir with a little bit more than, say, 4.2 coffee cups worth of water – that I probably won't ever try to do. (I may plug the hole up.) Sight glass is on side – not a particularly useful location.
