I ordered a bike rack because I wanted a little more storage space when needed. Lund bike racks appeared to be a paid option. I could transport bikes AND firewood if needed. I received the product earlier than expected, a few days earlier in fact. This has made me a happy consumer. I had to wait a few more days for the shipping company to arrive before I could assemble everything. It is in order. I took my time. The carrier arrived the following Monday and was also delivered a few days earlier than promised. I love Revain and that's one of the reasons. Let's get back to the rating. At first glance I thought it looked good. This will work great. I installed the bike mount in just a few minutes. Simple as can be. Then I installed the bike in a luggage rack. Hm. It's not so happy here. It seems that the wheel carrier is tilted too much. Bicycle tire is almost out. I thought well most reviews said 4 ratchet stays are needed to secure the bikes but I figured the bike should at least be in a stand. To the right? They don't. So my options are: 1) Secure the bikes with a couple (4 or so) of ratchet straps 2) Remove the holder and try to bend the wheel slots to fit more wheels 3) Drill two more holes towards the Center of the trunk to make the wheel fit better. Now for each of them there are pros and cons. I'm leaning toward the third option because I don't want to bend the holder. I don't know if the welding will hold up. This would have allowed the wheels to fit better; However, I would free up luggage space for cargo (if I needed space) and there might not be enough room for a bike. So I'm not so sure about this product at the moment. I'll go back and read the reviews to see what others have done or if this was an issue at all. At the moment I don't see this carrier as being very helpful. UPDATE: Having traveled to the Outer Banks from Delaware, I have to give the bar two thumbs up. However, I have changed my attitude. I did NOT like how it was supposed to install. The bikes were too loose. Taking the advice of another review, I flipped the mount so the tops of the tire rack were facing in. Bikes were much safer this way. I realize I'm losing valuable luggage space by doing this, but as I mentioned, I bought a rack to carry bikes, not fridges, boxes or whatever.
