Review on VIKINGS BLADE Crusader Adjustable Safety by Tanya Wright

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Looks good but is not a high quality precision razor

I have a Vikings Godfather safety razor and it was my very first DE safety razor I have ever bought. The Godfather is a very soft (non-aggressive) razor. I can use a feather blade there and still get a good shave. I also had the Chief (Odin Edition) but I sent it back because it was too aggressive and too small for my hands. The crusader looks nice, but it's not accurate at all. Due to sensitive skin, I use the lowest settings and still get cuts. I have used Voskhod blades which are known for being very smooth and great for aggressive razors and the shave was terrible. I thought it was the blades, so I went with custom blades that are known for their good balance of sharpness and smoothness. I still have a bad cut and I used very little pressure. Hair clogs when using the lowest settings and grip isn't as good when using slick soaps like Commander soap. The whole point of an adjustable razor is to be able to easily determine where you want to shave, but with this razor you'll have to guess. Both sides of the razor aren't the same, which is even more annoying as one side of the blade can dull faster. This razor shouldn't cost more than $20 for quality. I will not buy any more Viking products in the future. Check out the Rockwell Model T if you value quality.
