Dust caps don't work because they have a solid rubber plug in the center that collides with the pin pull tab in the middle of the USB-C port. I suspect the same will happen with the micro USB port. If they had an indentation in the center for a contact tab in the middle of the USB-C or Micro-USB connector, they would fit normally. I'll have to experiment with a safety razor and cut the rubber stopper in half to fit there. The smallest cleaning sticks barely fit in a USB-C port. I was able to place them there very well. Great care must be taken when cleaning these ports. This is probably more useful for deleting ports that just contain fluff. Cleaning the actual contacts that may have oxidized is another matter. I've done five swabs and still haven't been able to remove the oxidation from all the pins in my phone's USB-C port. I suspect I'll have to get a contact cleaner from an electronics store. Everything else is the same as in the picture.
