Just so you know, you can create a 2D wire frame out of construction wire, lay it flat on the protective case, and then fill in the gap with that color. When it's completely dry (it may need to take a few days), take it off, trim off any excess material that has come out of your frame, and gently bend the frame into a more three-dimensional shape.
