This cauldron is great. For my family we use it all day so the 4 liter size is perfect. At first we had the 3 liter equivalent of this Zojirushi Hot Water Boiler and had it for about a week but then we decided to go up in size. We chose Tiger because it took too long for 4L Zojirushi to get here back then (about a month if I remember correctly). Overall I'm happy with the purchase so let's get started. What I love: I love that it has a reasonable heat up time and that it has a timer that tells you how long it will take to cook! It doesn't have the sweet music that Zojirushi has, but that's okay. I like the water saving feature because it lowers the 208F setting to 203F which is better for coffee. Also, yes, all the "normal", general stuff is great; Pivoting bottom, magnetic closure, discoloration, fillability, readability, remaining amount, etc. Things I would like to improve: While the 'shiny' and large dispense button is nice and easy to use, I don't like that the vapor is yours Can irritate hands/fingers when pouring a lot of water. Zojirushi does not have this problem as it is higher on the panel. Also, it has no timer function. Well with the Zojirushi I was able to set it for 8am when we went to bed and it really "saved energy" and was piping hot when we got up. This is not so important for us, but they are worth mentioning. Other things to note when looking at Tiger: It looks like Zojirushi's strategy for holding more is to go vertical, Tiger horizontal. So if you have height restrictions, this is probably your best bet. For me, I had to come up with a little base to put my French press under the tiger. Finally, the Tiger doesn't have a "cafe drip" mode, which basically just doses a little slower.
