Did a cheap 1x9 rebuild on an old bike. Banishing Jamis 2. This works great. I left the stock rear mechanism, shortened the chain and put it on. No dropped chains after 5 miles on soft trails. I will go on for many more miles. The strength of this ring is the fact that I didn't need any tools to install the chain. It only took a tool (or a wide screwdriver) to remove the chainring. If you want to do a cheap 1x rebuild like me, get ready to use spacers between the sprocket and crank. and a cassette. When building, make sure you have a set of spacers.
