All of my outdoor lights, individual LED lights, controller and internal power supply blew up due to a nearby lightning strike. We have a lot of lightning and waves in Florida. I found them and installed one near my new power supply's outlet in front of the new controller. So far I've replaced a surge protector which seems to have done its job and protected the rest of the system. I should note that my outdoor lighting system runs entirely on 12V DC, so it works great on that.
