I'm going back to home recording and a friend gave me an old audio interface. It was a little confusing to learn combined with learning how to use Reaper, my new favorite DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Finally I started messing with Reaper and after some difficulties I got the old interface from M-Audio working on my Windows 10 machine (10, I work in IT and finally I got it working with the old driver brought). But the sound wasn't perfect and at some point I realized the sound was in MONO. It was my own ignorance to blame as I only connected one output to the speakers so either only one speaker worked or both, but in mono. The solution was to get this cable. The price was right and once I hooked it up and figured out how to get the stereo output right it was like day and night. Now I can pan left and right, split stereo by width and mix like a master. I've had it for a few months and it's been plugged in the whole time so I expect it to last a long time. forever and ever. If I work in a professional studio or have to plug and unplug it daily I would probably need a more expensive cable but for me this is ideal.
